Week 8

Reflection


This week we’re taking a break! That’s right, we won’t be focusing on a new challenge until next week. You might be wondering how you’re going to get more organized by taking a break, but trust me, a break can be instrumental in working towards a more organized home and life!

You have every reason to be disorganized. Your schedule is crazy busy, crammed full with work, kids’ activities, social commitments and everything in between. You get sick, your kids get sick, and the germy cycle just goes round and round. You’re exhausted, squeezing every last minute out of a day that seems to be getting shorter, and then crashing on the couch each night.

You started out the New Year with resolutions, goals to make this an amazing 2016. Well, we are officially 8 weeks into the New Year. How are you progressing on those goals? Are you still plugging away at them, or are you wavering, thinking about throwing in the towel? When you feel yourself start to waver, my biggest advice is to take a step back, take a little break and focus on what you want to achieve when your project is complete. Are you looking to spend less time cleaning up clutter and more quality time as a family? Are you wanting to reduce stress by keeping your growing family as organized as possible? Are you hoping to streamline your schedule so only the most important commitments (to you!) hold valuable space on your calendar? Do you want to create a home that allows you to eat more nutritious food, be more physically active, or get better sleep? Use that vision as motivation to keep going! Once you’ve determined your ultimate goal (or goals!), set small, achievable tasks that will help you work through each necessary step on your way to meeting that goal. Whether you’re short on time, motivation, or space, taking small steps is the best way to tackle any project.

The 2016 Home Organizing Challenge is designed to help you baby step your way to a more organized home and life! Take this week off and reflect on your ultimate goals, then jump back in with us next week as we focus on setting up donation stations around your home!
