Tips for Success


The first week’s challenge is to get yourself prepared for the weeks ahead! Here are five tips that will help you succeed in meeting your organizing goals throughout the year!

1. Set limits on everything that enters your house. You cannot organize clutter, so you must control the amount of stuff you bring in on a daily basis.
2. Don’t organize things that don’t need organizing. If this week’s challenge area is already organized to your needs, spend the same time on a different area.
3. Push through today’s exhaustion to prepare for tomorrow’s success. It will be worth the work!
4. Use a timer to stay focused on small, achievable goals. You will be surprised how much you can accomplish in 15 minutes with no interruptions!
5. Be “organized enough”. Remember, the goal of being organized is to be able to find what you need when you need it. Don’t focus on perfection or spend your precious time over-organizing something that gives you no added value!

Spend your 15 minutes each day of this week taking a good look around your house and identifying goals for the year. Do you want to eat healthier but have a kitchen that is working against you? Do you want to get back into a hobby but have no space to be creative? You will be surprised how being organized can help you meet some of your other resolutions for the year!
